GIANT LEAPS at the 36th EFFoST International Conference

The project coordinator, Dr. Paul Vos from Wageningen University & Research, presented GIANT LEAPS' efforts towards promoting healthy and sustainable future diets by filling knowledge gaps on alternative proteins. The shift in our dietary patterns is crucial in reducing the environmental impact of our food system and promoting the well-being of people, animals, and the planet. The GIANT LEAPS project aims to accelerate this dietary transition by delivering strategic innovations, methodologies, and open-access datasets, in line with the Farm-to-Fork strategy and the European Green Deal's goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

Additionally, other projects related to alternative proteins, such as NextGenProteins, PROFUTURE Project, SUSINCHAIN, SMART PROTEIN, U-Protein, and ValPro Path, also shared their results during the Special session.

The European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST) annually organizes a prestigious academic food science and technology conference.
