GIANT LEAPS Stakeholder Board Meeting – The Hague, 3 June 2025

Stakeholders gathered in The Hague for an in-person meeting to review progress across all work packages on the 3rd of June. The meeting was held alongside Bridge2Food Europe, and the Plenitude Final Conference, allowing great networking opportunities for those involved with the GIANT LEAPS project.

WP2 showcased prototypes developed from 20 diverse protein sources, while WP1 shared new insights into consumer trade-offs and preferences across Europe. WP5 and WP6 addressed challenges around data availability and introduced a sustainability assessment framework and cloud data platform. WP7 presented key findings from their dietary shift modelling and highlighted two new publications on the safety and toxicity of alternative proteins.

Policy briefs, data integration, and the importance of clear communication were central to breakout discussions. Attendees emphasised the need for aligned accessible outputs to guide future food system decisions. The meeting concluded with a strong push toward cross-WP integration, dissemination, and engagement ahead of the project’s final year.
