Watch our new video here!

GIANT LEAPS is accelerating the transition from animal-based to alternative dietary proteins to work towards a safe, health-promoting, and sustainable food system.
Our ambition is to develop methodologies, datasets, and innovation to accelerate the dietary shift towards sustainability and circularity to cover at least 50% of the total protein demand with alternative protein sources by 2030.

We engage with a wide range of stakeholders to promote societal, economic, and policy changes to reduce the footprints and environmental impacts of our food system and improve the health and well-being of European citizens. The Giant Leaps consortium brings together 35 leading partners from thirteen EU member states and four associated and affiliated countries (Canada, Serbia, Switzerland, and United Kingdom).
Watch the video to learn more about our mission to change the future of European diets. Stay tuned to see how this dietary shift will contribute to more sustainable value chains and food systems, climate mitigation solutions, improved public health, economic growth, and job creation!
