Designing Future-Proof Diets

Designing Future-Proof Diets

This module introduces (young) scientists and students to the principles of diet optimization modelling and its use in identifying and evaluating future-proof diets.

Learning goals:

1. Define and explain the concept of future-proof diets and their importance in building sustainable food systems;
2. Explain the principles of diet optimization modelling and its applications in nutrition research;
3. Identify key data sources and model parameters used in modelling future-proof diets;
4. Discuss the common challenges and limitations of diet optimization modelling;
5. Discuss the future potential of diet models in guiding the transition to future-proof diets.
